Life with God is an adventure......heart of a mum

Without an adventure there is no story and without a story there is no triumph. Therefore it is important to stay focused on the many blessings of life. It is equally important not to dwell on the imperfections but embrace the challenges as they will set you in good stead for the future. The challenges of life are not a reflection of your destiny. Your attitude determines your destiny.

My son Christian teaches me each day about my attitude.  He tests me to the limit but to him he is just having fun. Whether it’s drawing on the walls, pushing the television, or annoying his brother; as far as Christian is concerned life is one big adventure. He is always laughing and can never see what all the fuss is about. I realize there is a lesson in the many challenges with Christian. I am perfectionist, I like everything in order but having a child with special needs is teaching me to let go. As human beings we always want to be in control but life teaches you the only thing you are in control of is your attitude and the way you manage the circumstances of your life. There is no magic solution to life most pressing issues but there is also no point in being mad with yourself or God. Let it go!

The sooner you let it go the faster God can begin to work in your circumstances. Galatians 5:22-23  the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. You see I don’t believe God wants the most painful and uncomfortable situations in our life to remain there. But like the children of Israel there is a reason for the wilderness experience. Ofcourse many times the many wilderness experience can be very painful and they do not make sense. But like the children of Israel we are being taught to trust the one who created life. Ofcourse they did not get it and wandered about the desert for 40 years without destination or purpose.

God wants us to learn the lessons and not live without a purpose. But also to understand that He wants to be our only source. This is important because all other sources will eventually fail. The truth is you will need God’s guidance for the rest of your life. Once the most pressing issue in your life is resolved that doesn’t mean all your problems are gone for forever. Indeed the challenges of life will continue until the day we are no longer on this earth.  Jesus speaking to his disciples said; these things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In this world you will have tribulations, but take courage; I have overcome the world." John 16:33.

There is no doubt the wilderness can be a very hard and lonely place. We all have our wilderness experience some might be harder than others. But God said “ let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” Galatians 6:9.

Don’t allow your life to be defined by the failures, misadventures or disappointments but embrace each difficulty knowing that God doesn’t make mistakes.

Even if you are not aware there is greatest in you ready and waiting to shine out.

To all mums but especially special needs mum you are not just a champion you are a *star*
